It must be cleared that listening to music is forbidden by the evident verses and Ahadith and the income of what is forbidden is also forbidden.
Since your original work is halaal, and a part of it includes music, that's why the part of earning obtained from music is haraam. This is a continuous sin, hence, it is necessary to avoid it.
The Quran says:
[ وَمِنَ النَّاسِ مَنْ يَّشْتَرِي لَهْوَ الْحَدِيثِ لِيُضِلَّ عَنْ سَبِيلِ اللهِ بِغَيْرِ عِلْمٍ وَيَتَّخِذَهَا هُزُوًا أُولَئِكَ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ مُهِينٌ ﴾ [ لقمان : 6 ]
Translation:
"And of mankind is he who payeth for mere pastime of discourse, that he may mislead from Allah's way without knowledge, and maketh it the butt of mockery. For such there is a shameful doom".
When asked about this verse, Hazrat Abdullah Bin Masood (R.A) swore to say, "Lahu al-Hadith" means song. This is also the interpretation of Hazrat Abdullah bin Abbas, Hazrat Jabir (R.A), Hazrat Akrma, Saeed bin Jabeer, Mujahid, Makhol, Hassan Basri, Ibn e Jareeh and Amr Bin Shuaib (R.A).
The Hadith says: "It is narrated from Hazrat Jabir (R.A) that the Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم
said: Singing creates dissension in the heart in a way like water raises the field."
It is reported from Hazrat Naafey (R.A) that I was going with Hazrat Abdullah bin Umar (R.A) at one place, he heard the sound of the flute and put his fingers in his ears and walked along the way. After being away, he said to me: O Naafey, are you listening something? I said: No. He pulled his fingers out of his ear and said, "I was going with the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ و سلم. He heard the voice of the flute and did the same as I did."
So these verses and Ahadith prove that listening to music is prohibited.
