Topic: Is it Mandatory to Observe Qaza Fasts on Consecutive Days?   (No-11217)

Q A person missed the fasts of Ramadan. He now intends to perform qaza for them. Should he fast for 30 days consecutively or is it permissible for him to take breaks in between fasts?

It is permissible to take breaks between qaza fasts, it is not mandatory to observe qaza fasts on consecutive days. However, it is “mustahab” to observe qaza fasts consecutively so the obligation is fulfilled as soon as possible.

وقضاء رمضان ان شاء فرقہ، و ان شاء تابعہ، لاطلاق النص، لکن المستحب المتابعۃ، مسارعۃ الی اسقاط الواجب۔
