It should be noted that if a divorced woman is not pregnant, her iddah (waiting period) will continue until the end of three complete menstrual cycles following the divorce. However, if she is pregnant, the iddah will last until she gives birth. In cases where a divorced woman, due to her age, does not menstruate, her iddah period is three months.

وَاللَّائِي يَئِسْنَ مِنَ الْمَحِيضِ مِن نِّسَائِكُمْ إِنِ ارْتَبْتُمْ فَعِدَّتُهُنَّ ثَلَاثَةُ أَشْهُرٍ وَاللَّائِي لَمْ يَحِضْنَ وَأُوْلَاتُ الْأَحْمَالِ أَجَلُهُنَّ أَن يَضَعْنَ حَمْلَهُنَّ وَمَن يَتَّقِ اللَّهَ يَجْعَل لَّهُ مِنْ أَمْرِهِ يُسْرًاo
