Topic: Ruling on Marrying in Sha'baan, Muharram, and Safar    (No-22700)

Q In our area, some people prohibit marriages in Sha'baan, Muharram, and Safar. They hold the belief that getting married in these months is not favorable for the bride and groom. Is there any Shariah evidence for this belief?

a It is important to note that these beliefs are based on customs from the pre-Islamic era (Jahiliyyah) and have no basis in Islam. There is no specific day, month, or year in Shariah during which marriage is prohibited, nor is there any day considered unlucky for marriage.
