Topic: The Ruling on a Person Who Claims to Heal Through Date of Birth, Telepathy, and Jinn

(No-42073)

Q Peace, mercy, and blessings of God be upon you. Please excuse me for asking these questions, but I need answers if it's not too much trouble or inconvenience.
The issue is that there is someone who claims to be a legitimate religious healer (ruqyah practitioner), but he says he can control jinn and unleash them to harm anyone he deems evil, causing them severe damage, supposedly to protect people. He also claims to be able to gather information about anyone he wants to treat, even if they are in another country, and to communicate with the patient without any personal meeting or using conventional means of communication, but rather through spiritual telepathy. He even claims to make the patient hear his voice inside their head, telling them what to do and what not to do, thus preventing them from committing sins. He claims he can treat them even if they are in another country or a distant place, or help them without their knowledge. He says this is done by requesting dates, addresses, and names of people. Is this a legitimate religious healer? Are these the characteristics of a legitimate healer, or are they those of a sorcerer?
May God protect you, bless you, and increase you in goodness through His grace and mercy.

The claims made by such a person, including controlling jinn to harm others, knowing the condition of people who are far away, sending thoughts into someone's mind without any physical means, treating people without their knowledge, and performing spiritual acts based on a person's name, address, or date of birth, are not only baseless according to Islamic law but are, in most cases, clear signs of sehr (magic), kahanah (fortune-telling), and seeking the assistance of jinn.
This is because in Islam, knowledge of the unseen belongs to Allah alone. No human being has the authority to command jinn and use them at will.
Furthermore, legitimate ruqyah is performed only through the Qur'an, established duas, and recognised adhkaar. It is done in the presence of the patient, or at the very least with their knowledge and consent. It involves no hidden or invisible claims, and no mysterious or secretive methods.
Therefore, it is highly likely that such a person is not a legitimate practitioner of ruqyah. Rather, he falls closer to the category of those who are suspicious and potentially harmful. It is necessary to stay away from such individuals. Muslims should seek treatment only through methods that are authentic and in accordance with Islamic law.
