Topic: Selling Birthday Items   (No-443)

Q Can we sell birthday items or is it sinful to do so?

aCelebrating birthdays is an innovation of non-Muslims, often associated with many superstitions. According to Shariah, celebrating birthdays is not considered desirable, even if they are no un-Islamic practices involved, such as extravagance, mixed gatherings, photography of such gatherings etc.
However, if the items typically used during these celebrations are not inherently prohibited and have permissible uses, then selling them cannot be deemed impermissible or haram.
