This word is not originally "Shariz" (شَارِیْز) but rather "Shah Rez" (شاہ ریز, with a ہ), which is a compound of two Persian words. "Shah" means "king" and "Rez" means "one who pours down" or "one who rains down." In Persian, "Rez" is used as a suffix at the end of various words; for example, "Gul Rez" means "one who rains flowers." On this basis, "Shah Rez" would mean "one who rains down kingship," and so this name is not appropriate to use.
It is better to choose a name from among the names of the Prophets (peace be upon them) or the Sahabah Kiraam (may Allah be pleased with them), or to choose any name with a good meaning.
