Regarding the name "Hazrat Umamah" (رضی اللہ عنہا), the granddaughter of the Prophet ﷺ, please clarify the following:
1. Does the word begin with a damma on the ا?
2. Does the word end with a "broken ha"?
3. What is the meaning of the name "Umamah"?
"Umamah" (اُمَامَہْ), with a damma on the ا, means leadership, headship, and being at the forefront.
Umamah was the granddaughter of the Prophet ﷺ, born to Hazrat Zaynab (رضی اللہ عنہا). Her full name was Umamah bint Abi al-As. It is therefore permissible to give this name to a child.
