Topic: Naming a Child Ramsha

(No-65924)

Q What is the ruling on naming a child "Ramsha"?

aRamsha (رَمْشَہ, with a fatha on ر and a sukoon on م) is derived from the word رَمْشٌ. In Arabic, رَمْشٌ means "a bouquet of flowers," so the name Ramsha may be used. Likewise, from the same root comes Ramshaa (رَمْشَاءْ, with a fatha on ر and a madd alif after ش), which means "a woman of beautiful form." This name may also be used. Allah the Almighty knows best.
