The correct Arabic pronunciation of the word "Zara" (زارا) is "Zahrah" (زَهْرَۃ), which means flower. From the same root comes "Zahra" (زَهْرَاء), which is the title of Hazrat Fatimah al-Zahra (may Allah be pleased with her), meaning "the woman with a radiant, white face". Therefore, if one wishes to give a girl the name "Zara", they should use the name "Zahra" instead.
Allah the Almighty knows best.
