It is established from some narrations that a bad name can have a negative effect on a person's life. This is why the Messenger of Allah ﷺ would change names that had bad meanings. However, a name that is meaningless and purposeless is simply hollow, and such a name has no effect. Even so, it is still recommended to change such a name.
The name "Laraib" (لاریب) mentioned in the question means "without doubt." As a personal name, it is purposeless and carries no real meaning. You should therefore replace "Laraib" with the name of one of the Sahabiyat, or any other name that has a clear and good meaning. However, it is not correct to attribute the death of her husband to her name.
Allah the Almighty knows best.
