Naming a Child Mariam

Mufti Sahib, my daughter's name is Mariam. People are telling me to change it, saying that girls with this name face many trials and hardships, just as Hazrat Mariam (may Allah be pleased with her) faced. Please guide me: is this correct, and should I change my daughter's name?
Maryam (مریم) is a very beautiful name, and there is no doubt that it is permissible and perfectly appropriate to use.
