"Shafi" (شافی), also written as Shaaf (شاف, with a double kasra under ف), means "the one who heals". Despite careful research, this name could not be established among the names of the Prophet ﷺ. Furthermore, since healing is an attribute of Allah the Almighty, it is not permissible to name a child "Shafi" (Shaafee) or "Shaaf". However, the name "Shafi'" (شافع, meaning the one who intercedes) is an established name of the Prophet ﷺ, so a child may be named "Shafi'" or "Muhammad Shafi'" (محمد شافع).
Allah the Almighty knows best.
