Going Elderly woman on Umrah with Group without Mahram (No-14656)
Dear Mufti Sahib, I am 48 years old and I am going for Umrah on January 27 with a group of two men and two women. I am going with my son-in-law’s brother. Someone told me that it is not permissible for me to go with a non-Mahram, but I have already deposited 245,000 rupees, which the travel agent will not refund. My son works in a private company, I am helpless, I don't have any more money, so is it possible for me to go in such a situation?
It is not permissible for any woman to go for Umrah without a Mahram. Therefore, in the given situation, it is not correct for you to travel without a Mahram. Also, if you do not have any Mahram relationship with your son-in-law’s brother, it is not permissible to go with him just because he is your son-in-law’s brother.
