It is Makrooh for women to observe I'tikaaf in the mosque. woman intending to observe I'tikaaf should designate a space in her home for this purpose and consider that space to have the same rulings as a mosque.
Therefore, during I'tikaaf, she should not leave this space without a valid Shariah or body necessity.
