Topic: The anecdote of seedless dates    (No-3639)

Assalamu Alaikum, I hope that you all will be well. Sir, I wanted to inquire about one anecdote which we often hear and even narrate it. Therefore I wanted to confirm if it can be relayed to others or not? Once some Pegans of Makkah came to the Prophet ﷺ and there were date seeds in their hands. They buried the seeds and said if the seeds become trees by tomorrow morning they will start following Islam. When they came in the morning the trees had grown and fruits also riped. They ate the dates and then said there are no seeds in the dates. So the Prophet ﷺ said: You people took away the seeds in the night.

This could not be found even after intensive search, unless an authentic reference is found, this should not be relayed and ascribed to Prophet ﷺ.
