Portion of Aqeeqa in animal for Qurbaani (Sacrifice) (No-727)
What do respected Muftis have to say about the issue where I have two daughters, one is 12 years old and the other is six years old and a son who is two years old. I did not perform Aqeeqa for any of them. Although the order is to do in 7 days but I did not do. Can I perform now? will this be considered sadqa? Can I have portions of aqeeqa in the sacrifice of Eidul Adha, that is, all portions of Aqeeqa in a bull intended to sacrifice on Eidul Adha
It should be clear that doing Aqeeqa on seventh day is mustahab. If it could not be done on seventh day, then doing on 14th or 21st day is mustahab. It can be performed later as well but the day should be a multiple of 7. Since determining the day which is a multiple of 7 once a long period has passed therefore Molana Ashraf Ali Thanvi (R.A) has suggested an easy way where Aqeeqa should be done on a day before the day of birth. For example, Aqeeqa should be done on Thursday if the day of birth was Friday. This way aqeeqa will always be on 7th day. Aqeeqa can be performed with portions of Animal intended for Sacrifice.
