Adding words by oneself in the translation of hadith (No-14641)
"Imam Azam Rasool Allah ﷺ stated: 'The best era for my Ummah is my era, then those who come after that, and then those who come after that.' Hazrat Imranؓ mentioned, 'I do not recall whether Hazrat Muhammad ﷺ mentioned two eras after his time or three?' Subsequently, Imam Azam ﷺ remarked: 'After you, there will emerge a community that will be ready to bear witness without being asked.' Al-Khutut (Sahih Bukhari: 3650). Mufti Sahib! Is it correct to use the term 'Imam Azam' in this manner in the translation?"
"It is crucial to note that adding words by oneself in the translation of the blessed hadith that are not directly quoted from the narrator goes against the principles of honesty and trustworthiness. Therefore, the translation in the question, such as (then Imam Azam ﷺ stated), is not accurate. This is because it might mislead the reader into thinking that these words are part of the narration of Hazrat Imranؓ, whereas the original narration does not include these words."

حدثني إسحاق، حدثنا النضر، اخبرنا شعبة، عن ابي جمرة، سمعت زهدم بن مضرب، سمعت عمران بن حصين رضي الله عنهما، يقول: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم:" خير امتي قرني ثم الذين يلونهم ثم الذين يلونهم"، قال عمران: فلا ادري اذكر بعد قرنه قرنين او ثلاثا، ثم إن بعدكم قوما يشهدون ولا يستشهدون، ويخونون ولا يؤتمنون، وينذرون ولا يفون ويظهر فيهم السمن".
