Topic: How to offer Sajda -e-Tilawat when a person hears Ayat-e-Sajda before joining Jammat?   (No-2323)

Assalamualaikum hazrat,
Kindly guide me in the situation, when I was entering in masjid for fajar jamat , imam Sahab was reciting ayat e sajda but before I could join in he performed sajda and returned to qayaam(it was 1st rakat)...now, was I supposed to do sajda first and then join in jamat or join jamat first and offer sajda after sunrise. ....your guidance is needed ....jazak Allah khair.( any language, English or Urdu)

 If a person hears Ayat-e-Sajda before joining Jammat, but joins the Jammat before Imam offers Sajda -e-Tilawat then he should also do Sajda with Imam. But if the person joins Jammat after the Imam has offered Sajda-e-Tilawat in the same rakaat’ then there is no need to perform the Sajda-e-Tilawat afterwards.
But if the person does not join the Imam in the same rakaat’ of Jamat then he must do Sajda-e-Tilawat after Jammat.

ولو سمعها من الإمام أجنبي ليس معهم في الصلاة ولم يدخل معهم في الصلاة لزمه السجود، كذا في الجوهرة النيرة، وهو الصحيح، كذا في الهداية. سمع من إمام فدخل معه قبل أن یسجد، سجد معه، وإن دخل في صلاة الإمام بعد ماسجدها الإمام لایسجدها، وهذا إذا أدرکه في آخر تلك الرکعة، أما لو أدرکه في الرکعة الأخری یسجدها بعد الفراغ، کذا في الکافي، وهکذا في النهایۃ۔
